What makes the Big Craft Swish work?

What makes the Big Craft Swish work?

This morning, despite the awful weather brought in by Storm Dennis, the Big Craft Swish was packed as ever! Every year this gets better and better, and it's all down to the volunteers and the people who bring their materials.  The volunteers, many of whom have been coming for several years, are trulyt wonderful. This year the Swish felt like it ran itself - I opened the boot of my car to reveal the last year's worth of excess stock, and they swung into action sorting and laying out all the materials. Sarah had even brought boxes to organise the...

How many WIPS is too many WIPS?

How many WIPS is too many WIPS?

If you've even slightly dabbled with crafting, you probably have at least one craft project that you bought all the stuff for, but haven't yet finished - or maybe even started. The optimists amongst us call them Works In Progress (WIPs), others know them as UnFinished Objects (UFOs).  So how many is normal? It's been a while since I properly introduced myself, and seeing as it's a bit of a new start for me this year, now seems like a good time to say hello.  I'm Sonia, and I love making things. JOMO Knits - 21 projects to celebrate the joy of missing out by Christine Boggis

JOMO Knits - 21 projects to celebrate the joy of missing out by Christine Boggis

Last week I had chance to share a coffee with Christine Boggis, editor of knitting Magazine and author of “JOMO Knits - 21 projects to celebrate the joy of missing out”. We had a great time setting the world to rights, and our conversation has left me with a head fizzing with ideas for projects. You’ll see them popping up in the  coming weeks! In the meantime I highly recommend a look at August’s Knitting mag, it’s an excellent and thought provoking read as well as having all the knitting goodness you’d expect.     There’s a good mix of knits but...
